Clayton Faulkner is a disciple, husband, father, student, and blogger.
This blog is the result of Clayton’s strong desire to see passionate, lifestyle worshipers flourish across the body of Christ. Clayton holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Southwest Texas State University and a Master of Arts in Worship from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Worship Studies degree from the Robert Webber Institute for Worship Studies.
Here is the deal about being a complete worship musician. It goes way beyond just music. It’s not enough to be just a great musician or singer and be a leader of worship in churches today. You have to know audio, video, lighting, photography, graphic design, web design, leadership, theology, finance, conflict negotiation and the list goes on…. This blog is an attempt at filling in the gaps for worship leaders – things they didn’t teach you at worship leading school.
Actively involved in leading worship since 1996, Clayton is a multi-instrumentalist playing guitar, bass guitar, piano, and trumpet. Recently he has served as the Worship Leader at Grace Baptist Church in Fort Worth, TX for nearly five years. Currently he is a pastor/worship leader at Theophilus in Houston, TX. His musical influences are diverse, ranging from jazz to alternative rock to pop to country.
Clayton and his wife Margo were married on May 25, 2002. They have 2 sons, Deacon and Masamo, who were added to the mix via Ethiopia. You can follow our family journey at http://meetthefaulkners.com.
